Answer

In welcoming visitors Toraja people understand that they have different customs. However, a degree of sensitivity on the visitors' part is  necessary.  Long shorts/trousers  or long skirts and covered shoulder are recommended.  Try to avoid wearing the red colour especially at  the  funeral ceremony as it has religious connotation.  Behaving with humility in this traditional society will lead to less frustration, more co-operation and friendly acceptance from the local people.
